All Silver or Gold tone jewellery is set on Base metals, such as Jewellers Brass, Iron or Tin.  The metal used will be listed in the description

Are they real gemstones?

No, unless otherwise stated, the stones will be either Glass, Crystal or Resin based. If the stones are real, it will be clearly stated in the description.

The 925 Silver?

If the item states 925 Silver, it will mean that this is imported silver from China. the item may even come with a 925 Sterling Silver Stamp.  This is legal for the Chinese to stamp all their 925 Silver with a stamp.  However, this is not real Sterling Silver as we know it in the UK.  This metal, however, does not tarnish or rust.  it has been specially plated with a material that prevents tarnishing.
